Noboru Ishiguro the director of Macross passes on (Japanator?format=xml)
It is sad that we are losing another veteran that played an important role in
the anime industry. The cause of his death is unknown, but he died at the age
of 73. All that we know is that the death was confirmed by Haruka Takachiho
the co-founder of Studio Nue.
Most of you know him for his work on the original _Macross _(Including_ Do You
Remember Love?_), _Space Battleship Yamato_, _Legend of the Galactic Heroes_,
along with _Megazone23_. Ishiguro, you will not be forgotten; I hope that you
enjoy your journey as you reach the far ends of the galaxy.
To commemorate his passing, you can find the original _Macross_ series on
Hulu. Unfortunately the box set of the original (Not _Robotech_.) by ADV Films
is out of print, so I wish the best of luck to anyone who finds it. You can
buy the complete DVD box set for _Megazone23_ right here, if any of you are
interested. Since he also worked on the 1980 version of _Astro Boy_, you can
watch it on Viki. However, not all the episodes are subbed on the site.
